First Challenge (Wacky Wednesday)

Two posts in one day! WOW Im on a roll.
So last week my DM and I were talking I mentioned that the next time she does a challenge I would like to participate and enter myself. Today I went into her craft room to see what she was making. She showed me this very cute card. You should check it out at Creativity is Only a State of Mind. She told me that she was entering it in a challenge for Wacky Wednesday, where the colors were Brown, Pink. and Green. So I started thinking. And this is the cute idea I came up with:

RECIPIE
White card base (5 1/2 x 4 1/4)
Pinkcard stock (5 1/4 x 4)
Three different shades of brown for the log (Pooh and Friends)
Green for the lily pad (Found on google)
Light green for the frogs (Paisley)
Two shades of pink for the frogs tummys
Brown marker
Stamp and Black ink
Google Eyes
Glue
ATG

This card was a little more complex then im use to. Each cut out had three or four layers but with my DMs help I got it all put together and figured out. Im not very happy with all the stamp turned out for some reason It wasn't very dark so im sorry it's hard to see. I used the brown marker to accent the edge of the pink paper, again it's kind of hard to see so I apologize for that also. Well I hope you enjoy!

As always

WAY LATE "Thank you"

Hello Everyone!

First I want to apologize that it's been so long since I have posted anything, I just dont know where the time has gone.
Anyway last week after I made the Valentines Day card for my husband I wanted to make another card but for my DM for allowing me into her craft room and to play with her things. So I put Bella down for a nap and then went into her room and sat here forever wondering what I could do. I began just looking through her cricut books and eventually I came up with this idea:

RECIPIE
White card base (5 1/2 x 4 1/4)
Purple cardstock ( 5 1/2 x 2 1/4)
Pink cardstock (Base Camp)
Purple cardstock(inside) (A child's year)
Glue
ATG

It's pretty plan and simple. But it was alot of fun making it and my mom loved it. Glad I have started creating. It's fun and I feel like im actually accomplishing something since sadly im still not working. Well thanks for stopping I hope you enjoyed the card. Im always up for comments. Have a great night!

Pea Pod Valentines day card

Hello everyone!

First I want to say how excited I am yesterday I completed my second blog hop and it was a blast. I love looking at different cards to hopefully find some ideas.
and another big exciting event... DRUM ROLL PLEASE!! I CREATED MY FIRST CARD!
It was so much fun and Im super excited for Valentines day now so I can give it to my husband, and thanks to my wonderful mom Brenda for allowing me to use her Cricut and cartridges.

Recipe:
Red card stock
White card stock
Green card stock
Pink card stock
Heart stamp
Green ink
Glue dots
Glue
Gems
ATG

I started with a white card base of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. I then cut my red card stock layer to 5 1/4 x 4. Next I took my heart stamp which was purchased out of the dollar Valentines bin at Michaels, and a green ink pad. I inked the stamp once and stamped twice randomly all over the red card stock. After that I used the cricut and the cartridge Opposites Attract for the words "We Are." I then glued them onto the stamped red card stock. Next I took three white gems and colored them with a green bic pen and glue dotted them to the card stock.
On the right inside panel, I used the New Arrival cartridge to cut a Pea pod out of green card stock. I cut the baby insert twice with pink card stock as I needed "Two Peas in a Pod." I glued everything together, Than I accordion folded a scarp piece of  paper because I wanted it to jump out when the card was opened. I ATGed the scarp paper to the card and the other side to the back of the pea pod.
Here you can see on the right side where the accordion fold makes the pea pod jump out.
On the inside left panel I used the cut "I Love You" from the Jasmine cartridge in red card stock and glued it on.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my first creation. I hope I explained it well enough. Please leave comments on how I can improve I will take all the help I can get.

As always have a wonderful day
God Bless

Ah the joys of motherhood...

Good Day everyone!

My husband is sure wonderful. As you all know I throw darts on a league monday nights and it's been real hard finding a babysitter all the young kids have jobs now-a-days. Anyway he drove ALL the way home just for a few hours so he could be home with Bella so I could go to darts. Than back to Sioux City Tuesday morning (which almost didn't happen because our truck is a POS) and home again Tuesday night for his day off (Wednesday.) Than he got up with Bella this morning around 830 and let me sleep until around 10. It felt good, even though Bella has been sleeping pretty well at night sometimes it's nice to sleep in.
Speaking of Bella she is getting WAY TO BIG! This morning she was playing under the dining table and went to stand up and smacked her head. Im pretty sure that just last week she could stand up under the table no problem, and she is such a monkey. She needs to climb on everything, it's cute but so dangerous at the same time. I think I have had a dozen mild heart attacks in the last week alone.
Im suppose to have a movie date with my mom today, but her back is hurting her so Im afraid we will have to skip it. :( Here I was excited to A: Do something with my mom. and B: Get a mommy break of my own.
As you all know we are still looking for a place to live. We have found a few apartments my only problem is I could much rather find a house but I guess you get what you get. Last night we found a few apartments so we are waiting to hear back from them. I hope things start working out for us. I sure could use a break here.

As Always God Bless

Crazy catch up...

Good morning everyone!

First I want to give myself props! I just complete my very first Blog Hop ever, and it was very cool to see what everyone had created. It actually made me want to craft something. For those of you who know me you know thats funny because I don't have a creative bone in my body, Thats something I sadly didn't inherit from my DM.
Oh well maybe if I keep practicing it will come to me one day.

Anyway Mike got to come home Tuesday night but than had to leave again Thursday morning for Sioux City and because of gas prices I think he will be staying there for a few days :( I hate it so much when he is not around. I know it's the best for my family but still. Well anyway Tuesday night my princess wasn't feeling very well so I used my new baby thermometer that we got for christmas and it just wasn't working right. I couldn't figure it out. When my parents got home I was telling them that it just wasn't working and I thought it was broken. My dad asked if I had taken the cap off and with my sassy attitude I said "OF COURSE I TOOK THE CAP OFF" but checked anyway and believe it or not there was a cap on it. At that point I felt pretty stupid. haha oh well it happens I guess.

Im very proud of my princess last night she slept until 530am and than back to sleep until 830. It's amazing how much better I feel when I get good sleep at night.

Have a wonderful day

God Bless

Nothing ever goes away...

Good morning,

As you have read I have been having problems with my daughter and sleeping, well last night I thought I had finally caught a break. I throw darts on a league Monday nights, last night I didn't have a sitter so my wonderful dad watched Bella so I could play. I sent him frequent texts to make sure she was doing ok and to make sure he was doing ok as well.
About 9pm he put her to sleep so I figured by the time I got home (around 10:30) she would be awake and fighting sleep. I was in luck my princess slept until 2am!!!!!!!!! Before we all get excited the next few hours were terrible. She was up at 2,3,4 and than ready to go for the day at about 730! I wish I had her energy!
But I guess I should look at the positive, we are making progress. Now if I could just get her to sleep the WHOLE night...

So excited my husband gets to come home! Only for 1 day than it's back to Iowa for more work but reguardless I get to see him and Im supper excited about that. My wonderful mom is going to watch Bella for us tomorrow night so we can actually go on a date (something we haven't been able to do since we moved to Sioux Falls.) I just hope the weather holds out for him to actually get here. It's been snowing now for 3 days... UGH I hate snow. Whose dumb idea was it to move to South Dakota... Oh yeah mine! :(

Have a great day!

God Bless

If there is a 50-50 chance of something going right, the probability is 90 percent that it wont!

Hello Everyone!
I had an awesome Sunday with my family. My DM got up with my daughter this morning and took her to Michaels with her, to try and let me sleep. Of course I couldn't, but I got up and helped clean up the house a bit. Then I made a lunch date with a dear friend and started getting ready. As I was about to leave the house my DM offered to keep princess Bella for me. So off I went in a snow storm to meet my friend for lunch.
On my way home my anti-lock brakes kicked in and I almost went through an intersection, at the same time a Semi went by. Talk about a mild heart attack. When I finally did make it home I had the pleasure of a sleeping child so I got to spend some quaility time with my mom. I helped her make her first card of her "Festive Friday Blog Hop" (check out her page for details.)
Then Bella woke up and we all hung out in the basement to watch some Playoff football. After many hours of playing (and fighting with Bella) it was time for her to go to bed. Or so I thought.
Bedtime for my daughter is always a 50-50 shot on if it will work or not. She is very stubborn and doesn't have a regular sleep pattern. Hence where my title comes from. It didn't work. So we let her get up and play for an hour and tried bedtime again. Then I got to listen to her scream at the top of her lungs for 15minutes. It breaks my heart when she does that. But finally at 10:30 she is now asleep. Hopefully for the night (haha that was funny) So if anyone has suggestions on how to get my DD to sleep I'm up for any ideas. Well now it's time for me to get as much sleep as possible before I begin this battle again.

Good Night All

God Bless

The first......of many?

So I have watched my mom post blog after blog after blog in the past few months and finally I decided it was time to start my own blog. I suppose to should introduce myself and my crazy family. Im a mother of two wonderful children. My daughter just turned 1 on December 31st, and my step-son will be 4 March 23rd. I got married this past June to my bestfriend! He is for sure my rock without him i dont know where I would be right now. We were living in Colorado for the past three years, but this past November we moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and have been living with my parents, and as much as I love them it's been crazy with 7 people living in a 4 bedroom house (really only 3 because of my mothers fasination with crafting she must have her own room.) My husband is working for DirectTv and Im staying home with Bella. My life is Crazy and everyday is an adventure. I hope you enjoy the ride

Have a great day and God Bless
