Pea Pod Valentines day card

Hello everyone!

First I want to say how excited I am yesterday I completed my second blog hop and it was a blast. I love looking at different cards to hopefully find some ideas.
and another big exciting event... DRUM ROLL PLEASE!! I CREATED MY FIRST CARD!
It was so much fun and Im super excited for Valentines day now so I can give it to my husband, and thanks to my wonderful mom Brenda for allowing me to use her Cricut and cartridges.

Recipe:
Red card stock
White card stock
Green card stock
Pink card stock
Heart stamp
Green ink
Glue dots
Glue
Gems
ATG

I started with a white card base of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. I then cut my red card stock layer to 5 1/4 x 4. Next I took my heart stamp which was purchased out of the dollar Valentines bin at Michaels, and a green ink pad. I inked the stamp once and stamped twice randomly all over the red card stock. After that I used the cricut and the cartridge Opposites Attract for the words "We Are." I then glued them onto the stamped red card stock. Next I took three white gems and colored them with a green bic pen and glue dotted them to the card stock.
On the right inside panel, I used the New Arrival cartridge to cut a Pea pod out of green card stock. I cut the baby insert twice with pink card stock as I needed "Two Peas in a Pod." I glued everything together, Than I accordion folded a scarp piece of  paper because I wanted it to jump out when the card was opened. I ATGed the scarp paper to the card and the other side to the back of the pea pod.
Here you can see on the right side where the accordion fold makes the pea pod jump out.
On the inside left panel I used the cut "I Love You" from the Jasmine cartridge in red card stock and glued it on.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my first creation. I hope I explained it well enough. Please leave comments on how I can improve I will take all the help I can get.

As always have a wonderful day
God Bless

  1. I am super excited that you wanted to craft and that you made this card mostly by yourself. Way to go. I loved the idea you had of making the peapod jump out when you open the card. Good job
